Bizoe Wines was
founded in 2008 by vintner Rikus Neethling, who takes a hands on approach to
his artisanal winemaking. High quality wines are part of his philosophy – “Less
is more” which truly reveals what he believes in.
The Bizoe name is
derived from the French word “Bisous” which means little kiss. Rikus’ first 2
wines, Henrietta and Estalet are named after his mother and his wife
respectively. He also added additional wines under the name Idioglossia – which
means the secret, made-up language of twins in honour of his twin sons.
Despite only being
available in small quantities, Bizoe Wines are in high demand, helped no doubt
by a crop of gold medals and 90+ points from Wine Spectator. Most recently the
2016 Henrietta Semillon Sauvignon Blanc received a stellar 93 points by WineMag
and 92 points by Tim Atkin.
