While Morellino di Scanzano from Maremma in Tuscany may be less well known than it's famous cousin Chainti it is no less enjoyable! Made from 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, this is a bright ruby red wine with lingering, intense flavours with hints of walnut husks and morello cherries with a pleasant vanilla undertone. It’s dry with soft tannins, ideal served with roasted or grilled red meats, lamb stew and mature cheeses.

Tasting Notes | AROMA: heady, lingering, evolved, intense and stylish with hints of walnut husks and morello cherries with a pleasant vanilla undertone. FLAVOUR: dry, tangy, soft, generous and harmonious with excellent length. This is an eclectic wine thanks to the vinification and smoothness, so it is ideal served with roasted or grilled red meats, game and wild bar in particular, traditional Maremma dishes like lamb stew and mature cheeses. |
